Parish Advisory Council – Consejo Pastoral
The Pastoral Council was established to serve as a source of guidance to support the Pastor in fostering the spiritual well-being of the Parish family. In their servitude, the Council members strive to fulfill their obligation to the clergy and to the laity in a manner that reveres the “Little Way” doctrine of our Patroness, St. Thérése of Lisieux, who encourages all of us to respond to God’s Will by doing the ordinary things of life with extraordinary love. The purpose of the Pastoral Council is as follows:
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Council shall:
- Represent the best interests of the Parish family by continually assessing and responding to the needs of its members.
- Sustain and augment those ministries that are essential to the religious and intellectual development of its parishioners.
- Provide for and seek out opportunities to enhance the faith of its parishioners, including actively encouraging stewardship participation.
- Recognize and attend to the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
In September of 2011 our Parish Council amended and adopted the By-Laws which govern the structure of this Council and changed it from an elected body to an appointed body. Five of the members will be appointed according to the leadership positions held within the parish. The remaining eight members will be appointed at the discretion of the pastor.
