Confirmation
The Confirmation process at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church is a two year program as required by the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Confirmation Classes begin in January every year and are held on Sunday’s at 6:00 pm. At the mandatory Parent Meeting in October we go over details and answer questions.
The Parish School of Religion registration is held on weekends in August every year. A $25.00 sacrament registration fee is charged to offset the cost of materials. There are additional fees associated with the Confirmation Retreat.
We need a copy of your teen’s Baptismal Certificate if they were Baptized at St. Theresa’s or elsewhere.
Attendance and participation in classes are important. It is the responsibility of the Confirmandi to arrange with the catechist if they will be missing a class for make up work. If a Confirmandi misses more than two classes he/she will need to schedule an appointment with the DRE and Youth Minister so we can discuss their commitment.
Regular weekly attendance at Mass is a must. We are asking that they share their gifts by participating at Mass. Once a month they will need to use their gifts as ushers, announcer, lector, or singing in the choir. Confirmandi’s will also need to write a Saint report, do 30 hours of service for our parish, and attend a mandatory overnight retreat on April 14-15. There will also be an interview with our Pastor.
Confirmation is not a graduation but a life long journey in connecting with your parish family, participating in your Church, and growing in your relationship with God.
Confirmation for 2012 will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 PM.
All Confirmandi’s and their Sponsors will need to attend the rehearsal on April 22, 2012 after the 5:00 pm Teen Mass.
